Henry Preston

Helped to found Grantham Museum and Public Library in 1926 and was a distinguished archaeologist.  He was the manager of the waterworks who helped to investigate Roman Saltersford and the much earlier fossil remains there, including the dinosaur once resident at Grantham Museum. The town owes much to Henry Preston’s work to inspire the creation of a Library and Museum in the town and the fine scholarship of his archaeological work.
